Motorola yesterday tried to increase Moto X phone and accessory sales by offering significant discounts on Cyber monday, but its website proved incapable of meeting demand. To atone for the frustration it caused users, Motorola has announced a new plan to deliver discounts.

Beginning December 4, 2013, at 12pm ET / 9AM PST, Motorola will resume selling the Moto X for $349 without a contract on Motorola.com and the personalized Motomaker.com. The same sale will take place next Monday, December 9. The company will also continue its 30 percent off accessories promotion on both days.

Motorola explained that its website failed because it could not handle concurrent orders, so too many people wishing to purchase a Moto X rendered the website unusable. The website has been retooled to support more simultaneous users, and the number of Moto X units available for the promotion has been doubled.
