The first gold HTC One featured 18-carat gold to showcase its limited edition premium nature, but it sadly included a $2,500 to go with it. HTC today announced a new golden HTC One less likely to break the bank.
The latest device is one built and colored directly by HTC rather than one released by another vendor. The new gold looks a little less gaudy because it's just a coloration of the metallic design of the HTC One. The brushed aluminum is colored in champagne gold and has black accents along both sides of the device. Otherwise, it's the same HTC One that debuted earlier this year.
Pricing information hasn't been announced yet, but it will obviously be much closer to standard price of the HTC One rather than the luxury tax required of the MOBO Gold edition. The golden HTC One goes on sale soon in the UK at Phones 4U, Carphone Warehouse, and Vodafone.
