It may have taken two years and a dozen or so imitation apps, but an Instagram Windows Phone app is now ready for download. No, I don't mean an Instagram-connected app from a third-party; I'm referring to an almost-fully-featured Windows Phone app developed by the very folks who created Instagram.
The Instagram beta app is now live in the Windows Phone store. With it comes the ability to post and view photos taken with mobile devices and with filters added on top. The app does not yet appear to allow video recording but it does support video playback. Instagram is quick to note that this is a beta version, so expect to see some shortcomings and errors. Most of the other important Instagram features appear to be present, including the ability to use the camera or import from the gallery, double-tapping to like, searching and exploring, and editing profiles.
