Sony Mobile has outlined its plans for Android 4.4 KitKat, confirming which devices will receive the update to the latest versions of Android, but the company left many questions to be answered. However, Sony did provide clarity about which devices will be first to receive Android 4.4, including:
- Xperia Z
- Xperia ZL
- Xperia Z1
- Xperia Z Ultra
- Xperia Tablet Z
The questions left to be answered is when those phones and tablets will be updated, but Sony is not prepared to provide clarity on that issue. Sony also failed to mention if the company will update other phones not included in the "first raft" or if those devices will linger on older devices. The company will continue plans to provide Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates to aforementioned phones, as well as the Xperia ZR, Xperia SP, Xperia T, Xperia TX, and Xperia V beginning in December. Based on that timetable, it would not be a surprise if Sony doesn't start the KitKat rollout until early 2014.source: SONY
