Leap Wireless, the prepaid service provider that operates Cricket Wireless, has gained the approval of its shareholders to sell the company to AT&T. Leap reached a deal to sell to AT&T for $1.2 billion this summer, and 99 percent of its stockholders approved the sale today. The transaction still requires approval from the FCC and Department of Justice, which could arrive in 4 to 6 months. If approved, AT&T would gain Leap's wireless spectrum, 5 million customers, and 3,400 employees.source: Leap, via: Phonescoop
