AT&T has confirmed plans to launch the Moto X beginning Friday, August 23. On that date, anyone interested in buying the new Moto X can purchase a standard version in black or white or customize the color choices for the device using Moto Maker. Some customers who registered for updates at att.com/MotoX will gain early access to the Moto Maker personalization tool that we highlighted earlier today, but everyone else will gain access on the 23rd.
The Moto X will sell for $199.99 when purchased on a two year agreement. The 32GB model will sell for $249.99 and will be eligible for the AT&T Next upgrade program that splits the costs of a smartphone upgrade over the length of the contract. AT&T will also include the Motorola Skip accessory. which uses NFC to unlock smartphones without having to enter PIN codes, free with each Moto Maker order.
Moto X buyers who opt to customize a phone with Moto X will receive the device within four days of placing the order. We've already reviewed the Moto Maker process, but be sure to read MobileBurn's Moto X review for an idea of what to expect from Motorola's latest smartphone.source: AT&T
