The Nokia Lumia 1020 had better software thanks to the Lumia Amber Windows Phone software, but the previous Lumia flagships at other carriers are being treated to the same update starting today. Nokia has confirmed that the Amber build is starting to rollout to the Lumia 920, Lumia 925, Lumia 928, and several other devices starting today. Not surprisingly, the camera is the focus of the update.
The update brings new features to several Lumia handsets, but the main advancements in the camera are limited to the higher end devices. Lumia 920 gained new ISO settings that range from 800 to 3,200, which is designed to improve photos taken in low light. Smart Camera, which has multiple camera modes, and the settings-happy Pro Camera also make an appearance. The Lumia 925 already included Smart Camera, but the apps will now be visible in the Windows Phone Store on other devices.
The Glance Screen low-power clock, FM radio, double-tap to unlock, flip to silent, and a few other features are included in the Amber update. Nokia has started delivering the update first to the Lumia 920, Lumia 820, Lumia 928, Lumia 810, and Lumia 521. Exact availability for each model will vary depending on country and carrier, but users can check for updates by pressing Settings > Phone Update.source: Nokia
