The Samsung Galaxy S 4 has until now been available in a limited amount of predictable colors in the U.S. Sprint customers today can break out of the muted white and black color options to grab a unique shade of purple that stands out a little more.
Sprint today announced that it has begun selling the Samsung Galaxy S 4 Purple Mirage color option for $199 on a two-year agreement. The new color option isn't the exact shade or purple most familiar to users and it is different from the Amethyst Purple used for the Galaxy S III in April. The new hue looks a little darker and less sparkling than the last purple employed by Sprint.
As for the Galaxy S 4, it's otherwise the same device that has been available for several months now. The phone features a 5-inch Super AMOLED display, a 1.9-GHz quad-core processor, a 13-megapixel camera, a 2-megapixel front camera, and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Samsung Touchwiz software enhancements.
Sprint stores and phone channels have started selling the Purple Mirage version of the Galaxy S 4 today. Customers can purchase the phone online at Sprint.com beginning Friday, August 16.
