HTC is teasing that it has "Big things ahead," and those big things are likely in reference to a larger version of the HTC One, known as the HTC One Maxx, that has a 5.9-inch display. HTC's Instagram account filmed a video of a very short promotional clip that shows someone exiting a helicopter carrying a briefcase, giving a high-five to a waiting person, and walking off to the tag line "Here's To Change, Happy Telephone Company."
The person exiting the helicopter may be actor Robert Downey, Jr., who signed a deal with HTC to act as a brand ambassador and appear in advertisements. Downey may have been tapped to help promote the HTC One Max, the rumored name for HTC's smartphone with a much larger display. The standard HTC One isn't exactly a minnow with its 4.7-inch screen, but the Max is believed to be a be Galaxy Note competitor, which calls for HTC to bump the device up to a 5.9-inch display.
If rumors are to be believed - and aren't they always? - the One Max will be very similar to its predecessor. It will have stereo front-facing speakers and run HTC's Sense UI that includes Beats Audio, ultrapixel camera optimizations, and more. The key difference other than size will be the upgrade to a 3,200 mAh battery and a newer 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 800 processor. While the teaser video doesn't include a photo of the device, here's a supposed leaked photo courtesy of ePrice.
