At the Breakfast with Sundar event at which Google debuted its new Nexus 7, Android and Chrome lead executive Sundar Pichai announced that Google Play has more than 1 million applications available for download. Google was forecasted by analysts to cross the million-app milestone in June, and the company confirmed today that there are more than a million Android apps and games to choose from in Google Play. That's twice as many apps that were available this time a year ago, and it also helps explain how Google Play managed to deliver more than 50 billion downloads to Android phone and tablet users since 2008.
