Earlier today, we noted that Google is hosting a press event next week that will feature remarks by Sundar Pichai, SVP of Android and Chrome. A pair of reports now signal that the a new Nexus 7-inch tablet will take center stage at the event.

Both AndroidCentral and Engadget have received tips that Google will announce a new Nexus 7 based on inventory updates at Office Max. According to the leaks, the tablet will have a quad-core processor and be available in 16GB or 32GB storage capacities for $229 or $269.

The Nexus 7 sequel will again be manufactured by ASUS and have a 7-inch display. Though specs are not official, a set of photos and videos have leaked online purporting to be the new device. The tablet reportedly has a 1.2-megapixel front camera, a 5-megapixel rear camera, and dual speakers. It's likely that we'll see this device appear when Google serves breakfast next week.
