This is the BlackBerry A10, the next major smartphone release from BlackBerry that is expected to arrive later this year. Based on recent events, It may be one of the most important releases of the year.
The BlackBerry A10, codenamed Aristo, is said to be a mix of the BlackBerry Z10 and Q10. The phone is linked to the Z10 because it is all touch-screen display, but the back of the phone will reportedly have a glass-weave similar to the Q10. A screenshot associated with the leaked image signals that it will run the upcoming BlackBerry 10.2 software. The A10 is also important because it will be the largest BlackBerry 10 device thanks to a 5-inch, 720p Super AMOLED display. The A10 is expected to have a dual-core processor despite the rise in quad-core competition from Android and an expected quad-core Windows Phone 8 device to be released later this year.
According to BGR, which first published the above photo, the BlackBerry A10 will be released later this fall. The A10 could potentially have a defining role for BlackBerry's annual reports because the company has so far struggled to see signs of a long-term recovery. The BlackBerry Z10 launch got off to a good start and lead to reports of respectable sales, but the delayed release of the BlackBerry Q10 in the U.S. and recent reports of financial losses has created doubts about BlackBerry's ability to thrive in the competitive smartphone industry. The A10 could potentially attract new customers by merging BlackBerry's productivity and communication credentials with a large smartphone that's friendly to media consumption.source: BGR
