The list of prominent Android and iOS apps that do not support Windows Phone 8 got shorter today with the release of an official client for Hulu Plus, allowing TV watchers in the U.S. to catch-up on their favorite shows whether at home or on the go.
Hulu Plus supports on-demand video streaming of full episodes of the programs on major television networks; however, not all shows on Hulu have been approved for mobile streaming. The shows that are available can be viewed on 3G, 4G, and Wi-Fi. In addition to complete streaming of top shows like Community, Glee, and Modern Family, it also offers complete series like Battlestar Galactica and Lost. The app also streams ad-free kids shows like iCarly and SpongeBob Squarepants.
Windows Phone users will see platform-specific features in a Hulu Plus Live Tile that provides updates when favorite shows have new episodes available for viewing. The app also supports discovery by showing clips and shows that are popular, and supports resuming playback started on other devices like a Hulu Plus TV app.
