Field Trip, Google's location-based application that notifies users about important and relevant places of historical significance or relevant interests, has ended its Android exclusivity and made the jump to Apple iOS. First launched for Android in September, Field Trip uses a device's location to discover nearby points of interest dealing with architecture, art, entertainment, food, and other categories. The app can notify someone when near an interesting place worth exploring, talk about places passed while driving, mark locations as favorites, and share to social networks. Field Trip requires iOS 6 or later and is designed to work with the iPhone or iPod touch. Download Field Trip for iOS
