Chrome for Android has been updated to have several new performance enhancements. Google says that Chrome has significantly improved scrolling performance and better pinch-zooming on pages, and is now faster when interacting with V8 Javascript. It also has "expanded support for HTML5 features," so users should notice that the browser is better capable of loading websites that are using enhanced media and content loading.
Aside from the new performance upgrades, Chrome also gained the ability to have audio run in the background. When listening to web broadcasts or streaming audio, users can leave the browser and access other apps or phone features without missing a beat. Media continues to play unless Chrome is forced to close or if the user starts a phone call.
