BlackBerry 10 will launch soon in the U.S. with a hero device that detours from the old BlackBerry devices consumers have seen in recent years. RIM today announced BlackBerry Z10, the first all-touchscreen BlackBerry 10 device with a 4.2-inch display, and confirmed that it will debut on the two largest major carriers in the U.S.

The BlackBerry Z10 has a 4.2-inch LCD display with 1280x768 resolution, which translates to 356 DPI. The device features a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, an 1,800 mAh battery, 2GB RAM, and 16GB internal storage. The rear camera has an 8 megapixel rear facing camera with auto focus, 5x digital zoom, and 1080p HD video recording. The 2 megapixel front-facing camera has 3X digital zoom and 720p HD video recording.

As for sensors and connectivity, the Z10 supports 4G LTE, is NFC-capable, supports Bluetooth 4.0, has a microHDMI-Out port, and supports microUSB charging. It includes sensors for Accelerometer, Magnetometer, Proximity, Gyroscope, and Ambient light. The device measures 130mm x 65.6mm x 9mm.

Though BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins said on stage that platform would be available in the U.K. beginning tomorrow, details for the U.S. release have not been shared.
