BlackBerry 10 will launch with more apps than any first generation operating system has seen, according to BlackBerry. As it unveiled its BlackBerry 10 operating system, the recently rechristened company confirmed that many of the top apps and games available on other platforms, Android and Apple iOS included, will be available at launch.

BlackBerry 10 will launch with more than 70,000 apps, more than 1,000 of which are already well-known titles on competing operating system Android and iOS. BlackBerry World will feature a number of top apps and games. The following apps are just a few of the popular titles I spotted that appeared on-screen during the presentation:

- Bard's Tale
- Foursquare
- Slacker Radio
- Goal.com
- Accuweather
- MLB.com
- Skype
- Delta
- Amazon Kindle
- WhatsApp
- Angry Birds
- Shadowgun
- Cut the Rope
- Need for Speed
- Modern Combat
- Facebook
- Foursquare
- Twitter
- Oovoo
- LinkedIn
- Rdio
- TuneIn
- Songza
- WebEx

As I stated earlier this month, it's not the number of apps that really matter to consumers, but the types of apps - the ones that people actually want and use - that will determine the early success or failure of BlackBerry 10's third-party app ecosystem. Based on some of the apps shared on stage, it appears that OS is much closer to success.
