As it prepares to officially unveil BlackBerry 10 later this week, RIM today announced that its BlackBerry World storefront will feature plenty of media options when the first BB10 devices go on sale. BlackBerry World will have music from the three major music conglomerates - Sony, Universal, and Warner - as well as several independent labels. The songs will be sold without any DRM restrictions.
BlackBerry World will also sell or rent movie downloads the same day that films are available on DVD, and TV shows can be purchased from ABC, BBC, BC, CBS, NBC, Starz, and more. A full list of the movie studios, television networks, and music labels who have signed-on to BlackBerry world is available here. The number of content options will be restricted in some places because of regional licensing issues. The video download and rental section will initially be avialable only in the U.S., U.K, and Canada.source: RIM
