ZTE Avid 4G is the latest Android smartphone on MetroPCS

MetroPCS today introduced the ZTE Avid 4G, the latest smartphone that's compatible with the prepaid carrier's 4G LTE network. The Avid 4G follows a long line of entry-to-midlevel smartphones that MetroPCS has released this year. The phone has Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Ice Cream Sandwich software and access to the full suite of Google Mobile apps, including additional apps available in Google Play. The Avid 4G also includes joyn, a unified app for free instant messaging, Wi-Fi audio calls, and video calling.

The ZTE Avid 4G features a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, a 4-inch screen, 2.3GB of internal storage, a microSD slot that supports up to 32GB, and 4G LTE connectivity. It has a 5 megapixel rear camera with flash and a VGA front-facing camera for video chat. A 1,730 mAh battery can power up to 4 hours of talk time or 260 hours of standby time. The phone measures 123.95mm x 65.53mm x 11.93mm (4.88in x 2.58in x 0.47in) and weighs 147.41g (5.25oz).

MetroPCS sells the ZTE Avid 4G for $149. It is available now without contract at MetroPCS.com and authorized retail locations.
