Sony today updated its plans for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. On its Sony Mobile blog, the company confirmed that it will update most of the phones released in the latter half of 2012 to receive Android 4.1 early next year. The Xperia T, Xperia TX, and Xperia V should begin seeing the update sent to devices in February and March.

Sony did not disclose which model would receive the update in which month, but it went on to add that the Xperia P, Xperia J, and Xperia J will be updated by the end of March. The Xperia s, Xperia SL, Xperia ion, and Xperia arc S will follow in "subsequent weeks," which is an unclear designation signaling that Sony is not yet sure when those devices will be ready for the Android 4.1 update.

Things could be worse; some phones have been scratched off the list of potential Jelly Bean recipients. Sony announced that the Xperia U, Xperia miro, Xperia tipo, and Xperia sola will not be updated beyond Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
