Research in Motion is scheduled to debut the first BlackBerry 10 smartphones in January 2013, but the rumored L-Series handset has already been leaked in new photos and video posted to a Vietnamese website. The phone appears to be a revised version of the "BlackBerry London" smartphone that first appeared a year ago, though this tall handset with curved edges runs the BlackBerry 10 operating system RIM previewed earlier this year.
RIM surely wanted to keep the design of the device under wraps considering how the company encased the guts of the phone in a nondescript boxy design in the BlackBerry 10 alpha device that has been given to developers. If this is truly one of the devices that RIM will unveil next month, the company can only hope that people respond positively to what is seen in the photos and video posted online. RIM needs its January launch of BB10 to make a big splash and reverse the tide of falling market share and departing prestige.
