Motorola announces Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update plans

Motorola has revised its planned upgrade schedule to reflect the latest information regarding which smartphones and tablets can expect to receive Android 4.1 Jelly Bean next year. The good news is that Motorola has assured that some smartphones that users feared would be stuck on Ice Cream Sandwich will receive Jelly Bean. The bad news is that all devices are slated to receive Android 4.1 rather than Android 4.2, and there's not much clarity on exactly when those updates will take place. Here are some highlights from the updated list:

US
- ATRIX HD will be upgraded this month
- PHOTON Q will be upgraded at an unknown date
- ELECTRIFY 2 will be upgraded at an unknown date
- ELECTRIFY M will be upgraded in Q1 2013
- DROID RAZR will be upgraded at an unknown date
- DROID RAZR MAXX will be upgraded at an unknown date
- DROID 4 will be upgraded at an unknown date
- DROID BIONIC will be upgraded at an unknown date
- XOOM (3G/LTE) will be upgraded in Q1 2013

EUROPE
- RAZR i will be upgraded in Q1 2013
- RAZR HD will be upgraded in Q1 2013
- RAZR will be upgraded at an unknown date
- RAZR MAXX will be upgraded at an unknown date
