Mobile security firm Lookout has made its Safe Browsing feature compatible with Chrome for Android. Safe Browsing, an anti-phishing and malware scanner that looks for and blocks suspicious links on websites users visit, previously worked only in the pre Android-4.1 browser and select third party browser alternatives. The feature is now compatible with Chrome, which has more than 10 million downloads and counting now that Chrome will be the default browser in Android 4.1 Jelly Bean unless manufacturers opt to deliver a customized browser. Safe Browsing is only available as part of the $2.99 Lookout Premium suite.
