RIM offers Canadian BlackBerry OS 7.1 users $40 worth of apps for free

Research In Motion is racing to have its BlackBerry 10 operating system ready for consumers in early 2013, but the company has taken a moment to offer a few gifts for Canadian users of its BlackBerry 7.1 OS. RIM has launched a promotion that drops the price of apps that normally cost money down to the low cost of $0. From November 6 until December 31, Canadian BlackBerry 7.1 users will have access to select premium apps at no charge. RIM will pick up the cost for 17 apps that have prices that add up to more than $40.

Participating apps and games can be browsed and downloaded from the Hottest Apps Giveaway search page in the BlackBerry App World. Here's a list of all the titles available in this promotion.
