Apple sold an average of 1 million units of its iPad Mini and fourth-generation iPad tablets during its launch weekend. The American manufacturer today announced that it sold a total of three million iPad minis and fourth-gen iPads since Friday. Apple notes that recent sales double the amount of third-gen iPads sold during its opening weekend; however, the two launch events cannot truly be compared because Apple failed to break down individual sales totals of the iPad mini and the iPad fourth generation. CEO Tim Cook notes that Apple "practically sold out of iPad minis" during the launch of the Wi-Fi only models. iPads with mobile data capabilities will launch later this month.source: Apple
