After one month of availability, iOS 6 - Apple's software designed for its iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - is currently on more than 200 million devices. Apple CEO Tim Cook announced the rapid upgrade process today at a special Apple event. Cook called it "the fastest upgrade rate in history" that Apple is aware of, though that claim can not immediately be independently validated. The adoption rate is most certainly the fastest in the history of iOS and Apple products. While not all features in iOS 6 have been brought to older devices, millions of iPhone and iPod touch devices from previous generations have key features from the latest version of Apple's mobile operating system.source: Apple
