Google has refreshed Google Maps to include more than 250,000 miles of updated map data. The updated information expands or refines Street View, from both an indoor and outdoor perspective, in areas throughout the world. Google announced earlier today that it is delivering more up-to-date Street View data in the following countries:
- Canada
- Denmark
- Great Britain
- Italy
- Macau
- Norway
- Taiwan
- Thailand
- Singapore
- Sweden
- U.S.
The updated Street View data also includes new exploration of famous parks, city centers, castles, and tourist attractions in several countries. These new locations are viewable thanks to Google's efforts to take panoramic images of businesses and map areas by bicycle or foot to reach locations that its Street View cars could not access. Google says "special collections" that allow users to explore areas in greater detail are now available in Brazil, France, Japan, Mexico, South Africa, Spain, and several other countries.
