Nokia and Verizon may soon announce details for the Nokia Atlas, a codename for a Lumia 820 variant set to debut soon on Verizon. While T-Mobile announced yesterday that it will carry its own customized version of the Lumia 820, which will be known as the Lumia 810 on T-Mobile, Verizon is likely to introduce its own take on Nokia's midrange phone based on press images leaked on Twitter.
A render of the Nokia Atlas has appeared on the evleaks Twitter account, which correctly displayed the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 days before Nokia officially announced the phones. The Atlas appears to deviate from the Lumia 820's stark rectangular form and introduce more curves along the edges. There's a noticeable difference between the Atlas and Lumia 820 press images, which is surprising given Nokia's messaging about the amount of effort it put into making the Lumia 820 more stylish and powerful than other devices in its class.
With Windows Phone 8 expected to debut at the end of this month, Verizon is likely to confirm its launch plans for the Atlas in the coming days or weeks. The Nokia Atlas may be the first Windows Phone 8 handset carried by Verizon.source: @evleaks
