T-Mobile has announced that it will carry the LG Optimus L9, an Android 4.0 device with a 4.5-inch screen and a 1GHz dual-core processor. T-Mobile declined to provide a price or release date for the Optimus L9; the carrier said only that the device will be available to customers at some point this fall.

The LG Optimus L9 is part of LG's L series of phones designed to increase the Korean manufacturer's market share among high-end Android devices. The device has a thin 9.1mm (0.36in) frame that uses metal trim to give the device a more premium feel. It also has metallic accents, a "Modern Square Style" for comfortable grip, and Floating Mass Technology to make the phone appear to be even slimmer.

T-Mobile will launch the Optimus L9 with Android Ice Cream Sandwich, and there's no confirmation or promise that the device will receive Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The phone uses LG's custom Optimus UX software that includes features like simultaneous photo and video capture, LG QuickMemo, and the Voice Shutter function that takes a photo whenever someone says "Cheese."
