Who will make the next Nexus phone? HTC and Samsung have both had a turn to develop Google's hero device for Android, and new reports suggest that LG will be the next company to develop a Nexus phone. Earlier this week, Android and Me reported that LG would release the LG Optimus G Nexus, a phone based on the LG Optimus G that uses a stock version of Android 4.2 rather than LG's Optimus UX. Modaco now reports that its sources tell a similar story, though the name of the device, said to debut in November, has not been finalized.
According to Modaco, the upcoming LG Optimus G Nexus will have the following specifications:
- Quad Core Snapdragon S4 processor
- 2GB RAM
- 1280x768 True-HD IPS screen
- On screen soft keys
- 8 Megapixel Camera
- No microSD slot
- 8GB and 16GB versions only (at least initially)
- Non-removable battery
- Wireless charging built in
As always, rumors should be read with a fair share of scepticism. However, two outlets that have been fairly accurate in the past report similar stories from multiple sources. It has been nearly a year since Google announced the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and it seems plausible that Google could prove the rumoured LG Optimus G Nexus true in a few weeks.source: Modaco, via: Android and Me
