ASUS has announced plans to update both the Transformer Pad Prime (TF201) and the Transformer Pad Infinity (TF700) to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean starting today. ASUS will first update the Transformer Prime devices located in the U.S. on September 27, followed by the Pad Infinity on September 28.

The update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean adds and removes a few things. Aside from getting the new notifications and faster animations made possible by Jelly Bean, users will be able to make multiple photo selections and utilize the Connect Dock accessory. Users will lose the ability to view Adobe Flash content because the update removes Flash Player from the tablet. Adobe has stated the Flash is not compatible with Android 4.1, and it will no longer support the software on mobile devices, but workarounds for reinstalling it exist. ASUS also removes Wi-Fi Direct support and the pre-installed Press Reader application, but Press Reader can be downloaded from Google Play to continue use.
