Android activates 1.3 million devices each day, now on more than 480 million phones and tablets

Google Chairman Eric Schmidt has just revealed that Android activates more than 1.3 million devices each day. At a launch event for new Motorola devices, Schmidt announced that Android now reaches more than 480 million active devices, including phones and tablets. That's an increase from the 1 million Google announced at its I/O conference in June. According to Schmidt, Google also activates 70,000 new tablets each day, despite being late to the market.
