Samsung Galaxy Note II delivers 5.5-inch screen, LTE, NFC, and enhanced S Pen features

Following the commercial success of the Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung has returned with the appropriately titled Galaxy Note II. The Galaxy Note II has a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED screen with a 1280x720 resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. The slightly bigger screen didn't bulk up the phone too much; the dimensions of the phone are 80.5mm x 151.1mm x 9.4mm (3.17in x 5.95in x 0.37) and 180g (6.35oz). The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean phone is powered by a 3,100 mAh battery.
Samsung also upgraded the Galaxy Note II to have a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor, 8 megapixel camera, 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera, 2 GB of RAM, a microSD slot supporting up to 64GB, and internal storage models of 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB. The phone also has a stronger S Pen that is now capable of more precise note taking and drawing. A new feature allows users to hover the S Pen over an email or calendar entry and see a preview of the content. It can also create Popup Notes that allow for note taking on any screen.
Samsung will launch the Galaxy Note II in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East beginning in October. The phone will be available in Marble White or Titanium Gray color options, and will support several connectivity options, including HSPA+ or 4G LTE, NFC, USB 2.0 Host, and Wi-Fi Direct.
