RIM has revealed that the long-awaited 4G LTE version of the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet will finally be available starting this month. Breaking landfall in Canada first, the LTE PlayBook will be available for purchase from a variety of Canadian carriers starting on August 9.

The LTE version of the PlayBook is virtually identical to its Wi-Fi-only sibling, and it comes with 32GB of internal storage; a 7-inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display; and a dual-core processor. The LTE PlayBook will come with version 2.0.1 of the BlackBerry Tablet OS pre-loaded. An update to the new software is available now for the Wi-Fi-only models.

RIM says that the 4G LTE PlayBook will be available from a variety of Canadian carriers, but it did not say how much the tablet will cost. The company plans to offer the device in the U.S., Europe, South Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean in the coming months.
