Google Maps for Android has been updated to alert commuters about service changes to the New York City subway system. Maps now notifies users seeking directions when a train line is scheduled to skip stops, take a different route, or have service interruptions. Alternative routes and departure times are provided, so riders will be able to use Maps to get a more complete picture of how they'll get from point A to point B.
