Evernote released version 4.1 of its app for Android smartphones and tablets today, and with it has included a redesigned interface for tablets and a number of other improvements.

The updated version of Evernote features a new home screen for tablet users, with quick access to create a new note or view existing notes. There are new swipe gestures for navigating throughout the app, such as making the note list full screen. The tablet version now also includes a list view to quickly see basic information about the group of notes.

Both smartphone and tablet users can take advantage of the new sublists feature to add additional levels of bulleted or numbered lists in their notes. There is also an improved slideshow feature for looking at pictures embedded in notes.

Evernote for Android 4.1 is free and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store now.
