Last night, Google released its updated Android distribution numbers, and based on the report, it appears that Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is now on 10.9 percent of active Android devices. Android 4.0, which was the latest version of the platform until last week, saw growth of 3.8 percentage points since the June report thanks to the popularity of new devices like HTC's One series and Samsung's Galaxy S III. Manufacturer updates being seeded out to existing Android smartphones and tablets also contributed to this jump. Android 2.3 Gingerbread is still by far the most popular version of the platform in use, however, as it is found on 64 percent of active devices.source: Google, via: Android Central
