Verizon Wireless announced today the availability of the new Samsung Intensity III messaging phone. The Intensity III follows the Intensity and the Intensity II and features a slide-out QWERTY keypad.

The Intensity III has a ruggedized design with support for 810F military specifications. It is made from 80 percent recycled materials, features a high-efficiency charger, and comes in a box that's made from 60 percent recycled paper and printed with environmentally-friendly soy inks.

The phone has a 2.4-inch QVGA (240 x 320 pixel) display, external numeric keypad, microSD card slot, support for Bluetooth, and a 2 megapixel camera.

The Samsung Intensity III is available from Verizon Wireless' online store today and will be in retail store locations in the coming weeks. It costs $79.99 with a new two-year agreement.
