Following last week's dismissal of Apple and Motorola's complaints against one another, Judge Posner of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois is giving the companies another chance to prove they have a case and what damages they are due. The judge had initially dismissed the case because it was not clear what damages were owed to either side, or how those damages would be paid out should one side win. Motorola will have some extra work to do to win its case, as it will have to prove how its patent infringement claims are applicable while the patents are licensed under FRAND terms. The court will hold a hearing on the matter on June 20.
