AT&T unveils the $149.99 Samsung Galaxy Appeal pre-paid smartphone

AT&T today announced a new smartphone for its pre-paid GoPhone brand. The Samsung Galaxy Appeal is a side-slider Android phone with a four-row QWERTY keyboard.

The Galaxy Appeal is an Android 2.3 Gingerbread smartphone, and it is powered by an 800MHz, single-core processor. It has a 3.2-inch, HVGA (320 x 480 pixel) display and a 3 megapixel camera with video capabilities. It supports microSD cards up to 32GB in capacity and comes with a 1300mAh battery that is good for 7 hours of talk time or 12.5 days of standby. The Galaxy Appeal measures 112mm x 57.7mm x 14.2mm (4.41in x 2.27in x 0.56in) and weighs 122g (4.3oz).

AT&T will offer the Samsung Galaxy Appeal for $149.99 at Walmart stores starting on June 5, and then at other AT&T locations starting on July 15.
