Isis, the mobile payment joint venture between AT&T, Verizon Wireless, and T-Mobile, won't be launching until later this year, but that hasn't stopped it from signing up partners to be ready for when it does launch. Today, the firm announced that it will support American Express consumer, small business, and Serve cards in its Mobile Wallet app. American Express customers will be able to pay for goods and services through the Isis Mobile Wallet app by tapping their phone on a point of sale terminal and then have the charges billed to their AmEx cards. AmEx and Isis agreed to work together last year, but today's announcement is specifically for support in the mobile app. Isis is expected to launch in Salt Lake City and Austin later this year, though an exact date has not yet been announced.
