Verizon Wireless has announced a software update for the Sony Xperia PLAY gaming-centric smartphone that adds a few new features and addresses some bugs and performance issues. The most notable of the new features can be found in the camera app, as the right shoulder trigger can now be used as a camera shutter key and there is now continuous autofocus when recording 720p video. The update bumps the software on the phone to Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread, and includes a few Verizon apps, such as VZ Navigator and Verizon Video-on-Demand. Xperia PLAY owners should get a notification on their phones when the update is ready to be downloaded and installed.source: Verizon Wireless, via: Phone Scoop
