ASUS has announced that its Transformer Pad 300 10-inch tablet will land stateside on April 22. The Pad 300 is a relative to the popular Eee Pad Transformer tablet and offers the ability to "transform" the tablet into a laptop with an optional keyboard dock.

The Transformer Pad 300 by ASUS offers a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 pixel IPS touchscreen display and runs on Google's Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. The device sports a speedy NVIDIA quad-core Tegra 3 processor and gives users the option to choose Wi-Fi or 4G LTE connectivity for data. Other features include an 8 megapixel rear facing camera and a front facing 1.2 megapixel camera for video chats. A micro-HDMI port is on board for TV hook-ups, a microSD card slot is available for storage expansion, and the battery is expected to offer up to 10 hours of life. The optional keyboard dock can extend the battery life up to 15 hours total.

The tablet's price is expected to be unveiled on April 22, but bulk retailer BJ's is already taking pre-orders for a 32GB model for $399. For more, check out our hands-on video with the new ASUS Transformer Pad 300 Android tablet.
