Hot on the heels of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 is its larger brother, the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. The Tab 2 10.1 features a larger screen and a higher price tag than its smaller sibling, and it will hit U.S. shelves a few weeks later.

The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 looks very similar to the Galaxy Tab 10.1 that was released last year. The speakers have been moved to the front of the tablet, and there is a silver trim that surrounds the full front of the device.

Under the hood, not much has changed either, as the Tab 2 10.1 is powered by a dual-core 1GHz processor and has 16GB of internal storage. It retains its predecessor's three megapixel rear camera and two megapixel front camera, and it also has a microSD card slot for cards up to 32GB in capacity.

Like the Tab 2 7.0, the Tab 2 10.1 runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and can be used as a remote control for a television, thanks to its included IR blaster and the Peel Smart Remote app.

The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 will cost $399.99 when it arrives at Best Buy, HHGregg, Walmart, Amazon, Costco, TigerDirect.com, and Office Depot on May 13. Pre-orders for the tablet can be placed starting on May 4.
