Samsung has expanded its Galaxy Tab 2 series with the launch of a 10.1-inch version of the tablet. The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) is an updated version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 that was released last year and it shares a number of design similarities with the Galaxy Tab 10.1N that was released for German markets last November.

The 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab 2 is powered by the now-familiar dual-core 1GHz processor and 1GB RAM combination we have seen on countless Android tablets to date. Its 10.1-inch display packs 1280 x 800 pixels of resolution and there is a 3 megapixel camera on back and a VGA camera up front. The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) will come with options for built-in HSPA+ connectivity, either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, and a 7,000mAh battery. The tablet measures 256.6mm x 175.3mm x 9.7mm (10.1in x 6.9in x 0.38in) and weighs 588g (20.7oz, 1.3lbs).

The Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) will launch with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and Samsung's TouchWiz interface. If last year's specs with a new face is what you are looking for in an Android tablet, you can expect to see the 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab 2 hit UK shelves in March, with a global launch shortly after that.
