Google has updated its Docs app for Android smartphones and tablet with new collaboration tools. Additionally, there are new rich text editing features in the document editor.

The new collaboration tools allow multiple users to see what others are doing to the document in real-time. It is possible to see when another user is typing or otherwise editing the document as you look at it.

The editing interface has been updated with easier to use pinch gestures to zoom in on specific paragraphs, as well as rich text editing to add color, check boxes, or simply bold or italicize text.

The new Google Docs for Android app is free and available in the Android Market now. Take a look at the overly cute video that Google put together below to see the new features in action.
