Twitter has announced that it has released new updates of its iPhone and Android applications. Twitter now gives iPhone users the ability to copy/paste tweet text, the option to copy/mail/tweet links within a tweet, change font settings, and mark direct messages as read. For Android users, Twitter is now optimized for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich devices as well as the Amazon Kindle Fire and Barnes & Noble's NOOK family of Android tablets. Both Android and iPhone users also gain a new swipe shortcut from the timeline for easy retweeting and replying, and also a confirmation alert for "find friends." The update for the iPhone is available now in the App Store while Android users can head over to the Android Market for their own.
