Continuing the pre-MWC excitement (we use that term very loosely around here), Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Ace 2, an update to last year's Galaxy Ace (and not to be confused with last month's Galaxy Ace Plus). The Ace 2 has a larger screen than prior Aces, and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

The Ace 2's 3.8-inch display packs a WVGA (480 x 800 pixel) resolution, and the phone is powered by an 800MHz dual-core processor, though Samsung isn't saying which one. A 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, flash, and 720p video capability is found on back, while a VGA camera up front handles video call duties. The Ace 2 includes 4GB of internal storage and 768MB of RAM, and packs a 1,500mAh battery. The phone measures 118.3mm x 62.2mm x 10.5mm (4.66in x 2.45in x 0.41in) and weighs 122g (4.3oz). Samsung will offer versions of the Ace 2 with and without NFC(INFO) capabilities.

The Galaxy Ace 2 is due to be available in the UK in April, and we assume that it will be pretty inexpensive when it hits shelves.
