Google has announced that it has addressed the security issue with Google Wallet that would allow an existing prepaid card to be used by a different user than it initially was created for. The problem was brought to light last week when it was revealed that a stolen or lost phone with Google Wallet could use the same prepaid card even after the user data had been wiped from the device. As a result, Google temporarily suspended the ability to add prepaid cards to Google Wallet accounts until the problem could be addressed. Google says that it has fixed the problem and it is now allowing users to add prepaid cards to their Google Wallet accounts once again. Google Wallet is currently available on select versions of the Google Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus smartphones.
