Foursquare released a new version of its app for Android and the iPhone today that offers an updated and improved Explore feature and access to restaurant menus.

The improved Explore feature offers easier access to places and locations in your vicinity, and has customized results that change with the time of day, activity of your friends on foursquare, and places that foursquare thinks might be of interest to you. There is also a new recommendations feature that will provide suggestions for places for anywhere you want by just browsing to the area with the built-in map.

In addition to the new Explore and recommendation features, foursquare for the iPhone and Android now offers menu and pricing information for hundreds of thousands of restaurants throughout the U.S. The updated foursquare app is free and available to download in the Android Market or iTunes App Store now.
